Mustard Essential oil
Botanical Name: Brassica alba, B. juncea, B. nigra
Mustard edible oil and mustard essential oil are two different products. The essential oil is extracted from black mustard seeds and contains allyl isothiocyanate, a chemical component that is toxic and may irritate skin and mucous membrane. Despite this, if used correctly, it can act as a stimulant for those parts of bodies that have gone numb owing to its irritant properties. Mustard essential oil also possesses antibacterial properties and can be used in problems like hairfall and scalp infection.
